Understanding board feet
A board foot is a specialized unit of volume for lumber equal to a piece of wood 1 foot long, 1 foot wide, and 1 inch thick. The standard formula is (Thickness in inches × Width in inches × Length in feet) ÷ 12.

Estimating studs and framing packages
